The BCRN leaf is symbolic for many reasons.
Most importantly, the human body is like a leaf – which is comprised of countless pathways and tributaries – and harbors an intricate system of veins, arteries and capillaries that carry life-giving blood to all the extremities and organs. Much like a leaf depends on its veins for vital water and nutrients, the human body cannot survive without the ability of our veins to deliver oxygen, water, and nutrients to the rest of our bodies.
The leaf also represents the hope that we find in nature to heal our bodies. The leaf in nature knows that in order to survive it must keep its pathways clear and remain connected to the tree or plant. If the leaf can heal once damaged, so too can we.
